Vibration in clutch pedal?
Hey guys, you all know that I try to avoid the dealerships whenever possible, so I wanted to throw this out there and see what some of you thought.
Basically, at idle and in neutral, when I go to press on the pedal there is a moderate vibration feedback in the pedal. Now when I actually press the pedal in, it goes away, instantly. It's when I barely press in the pedal but before clutch engagement... in that little 1/4" of pedal play at the top... However when I'm moving and in gear (or even moving and in neutral) I do not get this vibration in the pedal. The vibration is similar to that you feel in the brakes when your rotors are warped... a rapid pulsing/vibration. Car drives just fine, clutch doesn't appear to be slipping, gears appear unaffected, just a vibration in the pedal. Any clues? I read on a few other sites that aftermarket intakes can occasionally rub against master (or slave?) cylinder lines causing the disruption, but this is not the case for me... I'm clueless... and I was not satisfied with my last visit to my dealer so I'm hesitant about taking my car back. I'd rather look into the issue myslef until I figure out if I'm being paranoid or have an actual warranty claim to make. |

bump for mr.sonick20z. lol it seemed like the folks on 502ss didnt wanna bother with it haha. but i went out for a spin after reading the thread you made and i notice it when i revmatch downshifts. i think it might be because im just slow at downshifting right now because im not really good at working the transmission yet.

I haven't noticed it.
Maybe a little bit of clutch chatter when the pressure on the clutch is reduced in that 1/4"??? If it doesn't affect the driveability, I wouldn't worry about it too much. My mom's 98 volvo turbo can have noticable clutch chatter on take off at times, but it is still running fine at 110, 000+ kilometers with the original clutch. |

I have that problem intermittantly. Some times I get the vibration sometimes I dont. I took the car to honda and they said there was nothing wrong with it they said the felt it then the other tech didnt but they said there isnt enough evidence to warrent taking the transmission out and replacing any thing.

i get the same problem bt now when the clutch is totaly disengaged i get a whining sound coming from the car. if i depress the clutch it goes away. going to take it and see what they do tomorrow. ill keep you all posted
took my car in and of course i couldnt get it to replicate it. so im just going to make a video on my treo phone when it does it again so they know wat it sounds like. they said more than likely they will need to rip the tranny apart. Last edited by 06civicsiguy; 09-11-2007 at 05:28 PM. |
