Unhappy Gas Tank Door Question

Hi,

I have a question, whenever it rains or I wash my car, the water will go inside of the gas tank door, is that normal?

Thank you

I suppose it's normal. The gas cap isn't sealed. However, there's a little hole below the gas intake that will allow water (or other liquid) to drain away.

I just realize last time i washed my coupe that if you spray the hose above the rear tire water will come out of the gas door.... so I guess it's right it has a drain

plus i imagine you put the cap on the tank... that's all you really need anyways.

i have a question about the gas tank door.

there is no mount on the gas tank door for the gas cap? is it normal for Civics?

whenever i fill up my gas tank, i just leave my gas cap hanging around.

It's there. I made a sticky just for you: Where the gas cap goes!

:)

I agree!! The holder isn't obvious like on other vehicles... on my other cars and trucks that had one, the holder was a different color (or plastic) which made it stand out.

Well, with as many people as we have asking this question, it's obviously not obvious. And of course, it's obvious to those who notice it right off the bat.

It's not obvious, because the holder is very discreet (it doesn't jut out in any way).
