Alabaster Silver and bird dookie
I was wondering if any of you are having this problem, that I've had since day one with my asm lx coupe. Laugh all you want, but I'm constantly wiping off birdshit from my ride. Tonight, for example, I spent like 10 minutes at a gas station with one of those squeegee things wiping off like 5/6decenly sized splotches that all appeared overnight.
I wipe it off, next thing I know my ride is covered in it, wipe it off again and in not too long of a time it's covered in bird shit again. It's not even where I park, because as I got those 5/6 splotches none of the cars around me in the parking lot had ANY birdshit. And that was just tonight, this sort of thing happens all the time. I'm convinced there's something about ASM that drives birds absolutely out of their minds - because I've NEVER had or seen this problem on any other car. Can any other asm owners verify this, do you find yourself wiping birdshit off your ride more than you think you should be? Or am I just crazy? |

At least you don't get bombed by Canadian Geese! Now that is some BIG BIRD TURD! I guess my driveway must be along their migratory path or something. Or I was a Goose Hunter in a previous life and this is revenge.
Don't scrub bird poop. Stubborn poop will scratch the paint. Hot water cuts through like a laser! |

One day as I was drying off my car after washing it, right in front of me a big pile of bird shit hit my back window. I was like ' What the hell was that?' I guess it could of been worst--- it could hit me in the face that how close it was. I believe it has something to do with the light color cars. When they are clean they shine really bright and I think it grabs the birds' attention. If you keep on having this problem buy a rubber snake and put it on or in the window of the car. Birds are scared of them and it won't fly around your car. Sounds funny I know but it works.

I remember readin something about this in a state test a couple years ago. it was saying that the colors white and silver get crapped on the most by birds, because the birds feel like its a big bird, so they are threatened by it, and so they crap on it.

Also, I don't usually park near trees. More often than not I have to park in a really big gravel lot with no trees anywhere near it - just a bunch of cars all over. Bryman1111, I like your idea with the rubber snake. I was starting to think the only way to stop it would be hiding alka seltzer tablets in bits of bread and spreading them around the lot -I heard those things make birds explode because they can't burp or fart or what have you, heh. The snake might actually be legal..... |
