Last night I experienced a problem with my navi.
My XM radio just stopped working while I was listening to it! It was raining pretty good in Orange County last night, so I thought it was just the weather, but when I would select the tab to listen to XM, the screen would kind of freeze and hesitate in selecting that option. So I left it alone and checked it again this morning and now I dont even have the option to even select XM radio. The XM1 and XM2 tabs are gone! I really dont want to disconnect the batter cable to reset it, and dealers suck, so I really dont want to bother with them! I called XM and they said my service is ok and I have a good signal. Does anyone know how to fix this? |

hold map, menu & cancel for about 10 seconds.
maint. menu will come up ONLY HIT VERSION..... after that ONLY HIT DOWNLOAD then report back.... if that doesn't work, disconnect the negative terminal and reattach! BEFORE YOU DO THIS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR NAVI CODE FOR THE CAR!!! |

I tried it but it didnt work.
It was weird though. When I went to try the download, magicaly the XM1 and XM2 tabs were back, but it still hesitated to go to the XM screen once I pressed either of the buttons, and It ending up freezing. So I tried the download, but it still didnt work. Then I turned the car off, then on again, and now the XM tabs have once again disappeared! Do I really have to disconnect the battery cable, will that reset my maintenance minder and trip miles? |

tirp and maint i dont remember when i reset mine. i had to pull the neg off mine after an install, and my navi was all messed up the reset fixed it. You also just might have a bad navi brain if u go BACK into that system main mode there is an option for system status or something it will run through ALL the parts of the car and check it for you XM, MIC, etc etc maybe it will show ur XM is bad and save u the hassle however..that diagnostic might just be for the antenna. Internally IN the naviagion its like a layer cake . PLEASE NOTE when your in the maint mode DONE MESS AROUND, you CAN CRASH the navi |
