CEL/VSA/! lights on

So I just got these three lights. Code is p0301 cyl 1 misfire.

Car drives and pulls fine, idle is sometime a little rough, as in i can feel a little vibration in the wheel at 650/700 rpm idle. however ive felt this vibration before the code.

Checked all the plugs and the gap is fine and they look great. Anyone else have this issue?

well i don't know about the misfire aspect of this...but 00celica had the same VSA/CEL/! lights all come on at random...ended up being a faulty ECU that they replaced on the car. we never got the code read tho.

Its under warranty. So just bring it to the dealer. Misfire codes can be a mother to diagnose sometimes.

same thing happened to me! took it in 3 times for it and couldnt find it. On the 3rd time they tore down the engine and the machine shop said ALL the valves were bent. they blamed it on me and i had to pay half to get it fixed. a little over $1000. They said i over reved which never ever happend. They didnt even have a over rev code stored!! needless to say lemon law helped me out by getting my money back

Im in the same boat. Working in the industry you see a lot of hack jobs that our fellow mechanics do. Your just gonna have to pray that you get one of the better guys in the shop. Luckily for me I used to work at Honda dealer, so I have 1 buddy that I trust with my car.

Yea me too, I work on a racing team now, but i used to work for honda. Unfortunately sense then ive moved out of state. I dont have the time to drive 3 hours back to give it to a buddy of mine. Sucks. VSA/! light just went off/didnt come on tonight so hopefully its gone. Im going to try to clear the code and see what happens. Ill also do a comp test tomorrow.

Bigheadsi.... you were fed a load of bullsh!t i have a feeling. Theres no way you wouldnt notice a power difference with all valves being bent. And only missing on cyl number 1. But at least they fixed it and you didnt pay anything right? Thats why ill do my own test to prevent that BS

Good help is hard to find these days. But if you go into the dealer and speak with an advisor. You can ask to get his best tech to work on it. If you know what your talking about the dealer is less likely to jack you around. That is if the problem comes back....

shgmike---yeah i told the advisor that. I was like dude how can only cyl 1 have a misfire with low compression and not the rest of the motor?? he's like uhhhh i dunno. i was like ok maybe my lemon law lawyer can figure it out for u. but yeah 3 months later i got my money back. I love it when service thinks customers dont know **** about they're own cars. I also said there was no loss in power and they looked at me like i was crazy. I told them i've been buildin hondas since i was 17 and i know a thing or 2 about engines.

Mine would light up VSA whenever it felt like it. like if i turned the car on all 3 would be on. shut it off and back on again and just the CEL would be on.
