Unhappy transmission problem =(

basically my transmission is takin a poop on me.. its really hard to get it in gear especially first gear.. when im at a dead stop and try to put it in first it doesnt engage, but the car slowly moves then seconds later first finally engages and when changing gears it doesnt transition smoothly it takes like a second to engage, and worst of all if im at a stop light with the car still in first gear it the car would jerk and shut off. Another problem, i have no reverse! it grinds every time i try to put it in reverse and when i do manage to get it in reverse my car jerks violently and makes this loud ass knocking noise coming from the bottom and then stalls out. My buddy told me its the flywheel can anyone on here confirm that or is it something much worse? PLEASE HELP

how many miles does your car have? and when was the last time you changed your transmission fluid? I saw some other people I think on this forum about how their gears don't go in at all.

I'm voting clutch issue as well, but it would be very weird for the clutch to be bad at 35k. if the engine is not running, is it easy to move the shifter thru the gears?

Go ahead and change the trans fluid regardless, it can't do anything but help.

Eric
You should take it to a dealer for diagnosis at least. If its the clutch you'll be paying for it either way, but if its something else and you're just tearing it up worse they aren't going to be real happy to cover it either.
