Valve Adjustment How To Help Please
I have a 2006 Civic LX Sedan, 1.8, with automatic transmission.
It has 139,000 miles on it and I need to adjust the valves. I know that it does not cost much to have the dealer do it but I would like to do it myself. Can someone post pictures and a how to guide for me please. I don't need a step by step guide. What I really need to know is if the 2006 valves adjust with a lock nut, screw driver, and feeler gauge or do I have to use shims. If shims are used then I don't know how to do that. Thanks for the help. Brad Last edited by Boulty1961; 07-04-2009 at 09:57 PM. |

Feeler gauge, no shims. PM and I'll send over some info in pdf. Don't overtighten a valve cover bolt like I did and snap one off. (that was a 97 civic, maybe the plastic valve cover on the r18 will be more forgiving.)
