Is this where the "Oil Leak" is that some have had fixed?

I know some people have complained about an oil leak and have had honda fix it.

I will be taking it in for the 25k service, I will bring it up, but I want to get your input as well.

Thanks

Here are some pics

As you can tell, its not coming from any dripping of the filter, and it is not below the point where the oil is poured in.

i got mine done.

I had the same problem since the first day of driving but I did not notice it until 8,000km because I never thought that a brand new car would have an oil leak.

I got mine done at 8,000km. they took 2 days and offered me a rental car.

They said it was the headgasket in the engine.

They had to wait for the part to come for a day, then they took another day to work on the engine.

last week, i got my rear shocks replaced.

this week, i'm going back to the dealer again because i have some noisy coming out from the right front corner of the car when i drive over little bumbs.

I hope you are not as lucky as i am.. getting all these problems =P

Good LUck!!

They pulled a few covers off, everything was dry. They think that the last tech was sloppy at doing an oil change.

They cleaned off the engine and want me to come back in a few weeks to see if anything shows up.

And they would not put the latest HDS on the car without a tsb.

Don't worry I am more unlucky than you. I have a myriad of issues and I have setup an appointment with Honda Car Line assistance to see if they can fix some of my issues including the clunk of small bumps and such.

Your leak was in the exact same place?

They seem to think it's not the gasket, but we will see.

does ur car accelerate fast enough ? because when i had my oil leak problem with the gasket, my car wouldn't accelerate fast. It took forever to hit 100km/hr.

I think 0-60 is around 8.5s or so, right in line with the specs.

actually it was more then that, they said it was a faulty gasket, and thats why my performance was lagging, but they said a majority of my oil leak was coming from some bolt not having the correct sealant or o-ring, something like that.

the bolt they are talkign about is most likely the tsb. this is the parts ont he engien that honda screwed up on and many have had leaks. although, i highly doubt leaking oil will suffer times, unless it's substancal. in this case, performance shoudlnt suffer at all, but if enough leaked out, then of course.

What was the cause of this leak? I have the same leak exactly in the same spot as yours. Dealer told me that's where the transmission is and the leak is from the transmission. They put some dye in the transmission and sent me home.
Was yours a transmission leak?
I have an ex coupe A/T

They claimed they cleaned off the engine because someone spilled oil when they were filling it up.

I took pictures because if it becomes a real problem, I can ensure the claim is not denied, even if it is over 50k miles.

It was cleaned off about 12k miles ago and I am going to do my own oil changes now so I can monitor things closely.

I had it in for a few other issues since then (thermostat, radiator sensor, radiator flush because the part was at the bottom so they had to empty the radiator).

We will see I guess.

Mine is an EX Auto Sedan.

I have no clue what the leak is. If I get more on the engine I will take a sample and see if it can be tested.

Last time you checked it was 12K ago? Let me know how it looks next time you check it.
Dealer told me that this is the bottom of the transmission and its a transmission leak. Can some one look at those pics and confirm this?
