Mine is a J-Vin. I've had some minor rattles, but that was only in the winter when everything was cold. I haven't noticed any of that noise in the past week or some since it's gotten warmer.
My temp control panel lights did go out about 6 months after I bought the car. That got replaced under warranty.

i did have to have my driver seat rails replaced because the seat started rocking a couple months ago, but thats it |

My 07 Si Sedan was put together in canada, the engine and tranny were built in japan, and not sure where the rest of it was made. I have to say that compared to my 05 RSX-S that was 100% from Japan, the Civic in my opinion is built a lot better than the RSX. i had to get rid of that thing it was so crappy, yes it was fast but the overall build quality of that car was nothing like the Civic. Same goes for my 06 EX TW Sedan w/Navi, the build quality of that car is also better than the RSX.

So far, I have ZERO problems with my domestic made 07 Si Sedan. I had a 12.5 hrs trip a couple weeks ago. It is flawless..!
To me, it is not where the Civic is made but who assembled and inspected it. Some worker is careless and let most of the borderline quality product goes through them. It supposed to be following the same assembly and inspection process and criteria, but it is depending on how each worker employed it. I am guessing that mine went through the caring workers..! ![]() I can use my 06 Odyssey for another example. The body panels pop out everywhere. Who ever installed it didn’t do a good job of fastened it. The dealership technician replaced some body panels and fasteners. It holds very well afterward..! |

Made in Japan > Made in USA?
Hi, I know this has been gone over about 25 trillion time
...but i am just wondering is Made in USA Honda that bad when compare to Made in Japan? Because living in Thailand we have basically JDM model except Made in Thailand, and i must say my cousin's 98 accord is flawless...same apply with nearly all the Made in Thailand car my family has. So I am just wondering is it really that bad? Or is it just a really small issue that only car enthusiasts (sp) like us will find? Basically what I am wondering is...is Made in USA civic as reliable and high quality as those Made in Japan one that had made Honda famous for its quality and reliability?thanks!

I don't think it makes much in a difference, between me and my family we have a '99 Oddysey (made in Canada?), '01 (until totaled in '05) and '05 accords (have no idea where those were built), '07 Civic Si (made in Canada I think), and '05 s2000 (made in japan)
so far there's only been 2 Honda related problems (unless you count hitting deer and trucks on the interstate as Honda's fault), a weak A/C in the s2000 (thermostat replaced under warranty) and a loud sunroof in the Civic (glass aligned under warranty) so, from personal experience I haven't seen anything that would say cars are built better anywheres, its just who designed it, and the level of quality control btw, the A/C in the s2000 still sucks

vw has moved all production out of germany and at the same time let quality control down. main problems with VW's is quality of materials. that has nothing to do with where it was built, except for VW going cheap as a whole.
my sister has a 2002 civic ex made in canada, and its flawless. not a single problem at all. |

I've purchased quite a few Japanese car company models- made in Japan, Canada, and the USA. My opinion is that the quality of the basic drivetrain is the same wherever it's built. That's the heart of the vehicle and the part that the "home office" takes the most interest in. However, in my experience, the quality of the rest of the vehicle is dependent on what part of the world supplies those parts. The plastics, fabric, body parts, exhaust parts, etc. that are Japan made have always been higher quality than the North American counterparts, in my experience. A Japan made Honda and a USA/Canada made Honda will probably keep running the same amount of time, but one will probably have more rattles and superficial wear along the way, imho.
