Y Does my RPM go up when i shift??

ok i have been noticin everytime i step on the gas to 3000rpm real fast n shift i notice my rpm bar move up a lil then it drop. arent it suppost to drop right away when i clutch? but this case it move up lik a couple hundreds rpm then it drop to gear. anyone know y?

it is the dbw causing it to raise slightly and hang then drop. common complaint among the si's

You must have a 2006. There is a reflash available for your car (I think).

Your drive - by - wire throttle needs a reflash.

I'm not sure if this is car specific...but its physics. You have something spinning with a certain load and you take that load away it will spin faster (increase in rpm) momentarily. This has happened in every manual car I've driven.
