Plastic in back of seat fell off...

Does anyone know if, to fix the weight sensor on the passenger seat, the back of the seat needs to be pulled out? I need to take my car back to Honda and show them how the seat just fell off.

The back of my seat fell off (just fell off) and the only reason I can think of is that I recently had the car serviced for a broken adjustment rail, and the weight sensors on that seat. I am hella pissed off since one of the clamps seems to be bent, even though it went back in fine.

Sometimes I wonder if mechanics at the dealer are much better than the smaller mom and pop shops...

Looking at image part #5, it looks as though it is possible that the seatback would need to be pulled off to get the entire cable out for servicing.

thsoe guys arernt' even mechanics, half of htem are complete idiots who dont knwo what the hell they're doing. I hate taking my car in for service. chances are, they wont be able to fix ur seat again, because they try to do it as quickly as possible, w/o thinking. So chances are ur seat wont get fixed for a while.

The backboard does not have to be taken off to fix the SWS (Seat Weight Sensors).
The SWS is part of the Rail Assembly. The Rail Assembly is 2 parts. Bottom part is the SWS, the Top part is the Slide Rail.

The only *FIX* for SWS (your A/B light is lit on your dash) is to re-initialize the OPDS unit located on the inner side frame. This is done from underneath the seat, plugging into the OPDS cord.
Other than that, the whole seat would need to be replaced.

Haha. You don't want to know. Let's just say that one of my roommates works at a VW dealership nearby and he's been there for 6 months. He loves working on cars, and he's previously owned VWs, so he knows what he's doing (more or less). But, after being there for 6 months, they still haven't done ANY formal training, certification, etc. for him. My guess is most dealer shops are just like that.

Damn, I have been able to put it in myself easily enough, but now there is a space that you can stick your finger in, between the seat and the cover.

I made an appointment, but I have a very busy work/social schedule, and it is extremely hard to keep these appointments. I might have to live with the car like this for another month or two.

The did fix the rail also, and I noticed at the passenger door, the plastic no longer stays flush at the bottom. I am so f-ing pissed off.

Thanks for the info guys.
