Window Problem
I have had my SI for six months and have had the windows tinted since week one. I never have had a problem with the windows going up or down until this week. When I begin to power the window down the glass catches the rubber weatherstripping and folds it down into the window channel and then the window struggles to go down. When I power it up no problem the weatherstrippign goes back into place. I know this is not right. I looked at the weatherstripping adn it appears that part of the "fuzzy stuff" (for lack of a better term) has been rubbed of right along the edge. Wondering if anyoen else has come across this problem. I figure I will have to get the weatherstripping replaced in order to solve the problem. Oh and it is the wetherstripping on the inside. Only thing I have done recently lately is switch window cleaners after reading all the posts on Perfect Glass. Could this stuff possibly melted the "fuzzy stuff" off the weatherstripping. HELP!

I had the same problem. Is the fuzzy stuff toward the rear coming up on the window?
I had to take my door panel off and staighten it back up, it wasn't hard at all. The part toward the front gets folded down when they are tucking the tint. It normally pops back into place with your first roll down but the strips are very plyable. I tried coat hangers and eveything else the only way I fixed it was to take off the door panel straighten it and put it back on. Look in the DIY threads to find out how to get the door panel off. Again its not hard - good luck |

I put tint on my windows and didn't have any problem but I would take it to the dealer they sould be able to fix the problem. they might charge because they would say it was the tint that did it and not a factory problem though. but that would be your best bet.

before I used the plexus on the window tint side, the door panel would pop out a little as the window went down and yes it did seem to struggle because the weatherstripping would flip down due to catching the window but when I sprayed on the plexus (plastic wax) and then wiped it off the problem instantly went away!

this happens because the person wo tinted the windows has to push the weather stripping down into the window to get the tint to go below that strip line. and because you can use the window the stripping gets stuck there. if you keep using it that way it willl damage the stripping and you will need a new one.
