Weird creek noise coming from my brand new Si

Hi. My 2006 si has less than 600 miles on it, and I just noticed this weird noise coming from the rear right side of that car. It only happened at low speeds below 10mph. It sounds like a creeking noise. It might be from the suspension but i cant tell. all i know is its coming from the rear right of the car. Has anyone else experienced this? I plan on taking it to the dealer in a few weeks when I get some time.

Mine did it too, but went away at about 3000 miles. There are many others that have had similar experiences.

Mine's doing that. I believe it is something to do with suspension. I am bringing it to the dealership this saturday. I'll keep you guys updated.

Same here. It was more prominent when you hit the brakes at a mile or two per hour

Hey... When you hear the creaking noise, gently pull down on the hand hold connected to the ceiling. See if that is the location. I swear the hand holds in my LX sedan all creak. Can really drive you batty!

same problem

It sounds like I am having the same noise problem with my new 07 just 3 days old. I brought it in and the dealer ordered the strut bar assembly for it. I'll keep you guys posted if this fixed the problem.

i had the same creaking problem on mine when it had around 1000 miles on it......the noise seemed to get worse the more i pushed on my brakes and when backing my car up...the dealership said it was the shocks and replaced them as well as the mounts and a few other thing i believe...creaking went away initially (the replacement was done about 1500 miles ago) but i think its startin to come back as i have heard it a few times recently....the guy at the dealership said hed seen a few civics with the same problem as mine so maybe urs does as well

I too have a 07 Si, with about 1200 miles now, and I hear the same issue coming from RIGHT REAR suspension area or something...duno what it is exactly. I think my shock is still fine because the car feels very firm and doesnt bounce or what not....

only when i go at slow speeds or at a stop if i rock in my chair or something then i can hear this slightly creaking/rubbing/loose noise?

oh well, i got tired of these noises so what im doin is turning my radio a little bit louder. i guess honda people can't really figure out what's causing the rattle/squeak. i've been to the dealer many times w/ this problem. first, they said its lack of grease on the shock, then rubber/metal rubbing inside the shock, they actually replaced the shock, then ended up replacing all shocks... still have the problem till now but got tired of it so damn it, i turn the volume up, get over it and go on w/ my life.

if this is lexus or a bmw then we have a problem... i'll probably mention to the dealer better business bureau and lawyer in the same sentence and watch their reaction.

but we're driving a honda so we can't complain.

Yes, I had that creaking/clicking/raspy problem on the right rear side..I thought it was the suspension. Took it to the dealership..found out that it was the rubber stopper attached to the inside of the trunk that holds the trunk in place when you close it. It's towards the tail lights. The rubber stopper wasn't touching the surface in the trunk when the trunk lid is closed. You can easily tell..just look at the surface where the rubber stopper goes and lays down on. There's one on the left and one on the right. The surface on the left has the rubber stopper/mount marks and the other one..is clean..therefore it's not touching. problem solved!

Check your exhaust hangers your exhaust comes down the right side grab ahold of your exhaust tip and wiggle it. I was able to rock the car while it was sitting still and it made the noise.

i thought i can live w/ the noise at my rear right by masking it w/ a loud radio... i was wrong.

i went to the dealership and told them the cranking/rattling noise w/c is worsening.

its been 3 days and haven't heard from them...
im planning to call them later as to find out what's up w/ my car.

i'll keep u updated on the diagnosis for i know a lots of you guys have the same problem as mine.

UPDATE: so ok, the dealership finally called me and told me that they can't figure out where the noise is coming from. they tried to lube the shocks, the muffler and checked on the rubber stopper inside the trunk and its still there. they said the cranking/squeaking is on and off and they did everything they could to find the noise. what will happen now is that the dealership will involve honda engineers and try to mess up, i mean try to take a look at my car see where the damn noise is coming from.

i'll keep u updated...

UPDATE:

the dealership updated me on the status of my car... they tried to run my car w/ the stock wheels (i have an 18" rims) and found out that the noise was still there but not as prominent as w/ my 18" wheels on...

so they borrowed a new coupe on the lot and test drove it and they said the noise was also on the new ones and somewhat conclude that its natural thing for a civic to have that kind of crank/squeak so i'll have to live with it for a while until honda engineers comes out w/ the solution...

my conclusion is that they can't figure out where the noise is coming from and they just got tired of looking into it (without success) since its been there for 4 days already so they just told me craps that doesn't make sense.

my only consolation i guess is when they told me that its not a safety issue and i can drive my car wherever i want whenever i want (of course w/ that damn noise).

lol thanks for all the updates with the dealership situation trying to solve it, appreciate it!

Yeah my car now has 1800 miles, and seems like the noise is slowly getting better (not as audible/noticeable) so I guess for now keep driving and it might just go away, like some others have! Because I dont think its a blown shock, my car feels pretty firm in corners, etc.
