Steering wheel controls led malfunction

hey guys I just noticed today that the controls on my steering wheel (cruise control, etc) weren't lighting up as bright of a green as the rest of the controls on the car (a/c,CD player, tuning knobs, etc.) it was really dim and i had my lights on so i'm not sure if it's something with the wires?
