EX Exhaust Tip Security

Hey Everyone,

This is my first post, I am a recent owner of an EX.

I was wondering about the security of the EX Chrome Exhaust Finisher. Because, something happened to mine; it's gone!

Do you think anyone can steal it by simple unscrewing the bolt? Or is it possible for it to just fall off due to a loose bolt? What do you guys think?

And since it's gone, can I drive the EX safely since it only is a cosmetic issue not an essential part?

Thanks.

Haha you can drive the EX safely, it was nothing but an exhaust tip.. No performance or anything of that value. And yes, I could take one off in under 10seconds

**** david your right. Also ask them to take apart your exhaust. The nut that is used to hold on the tip might have been pulled into the exhaust. Your looking at a FUBAR if you don't act fast.

Haha; they stole my mirror housing 2 months ago, not the whole mirror but the mirror and its housing!

Is there anything I should be worried about that can get stolen by simply unscrewing a bolt or just popping it out?

no, your insurance may cover it since it was stolen, but not your warrenty. Your deductable would apply and is pretty likely to be higher than the cost of the tips, so it wouldn't help
Just go to Honda and get another pair.

But if I do get a new one then it can get stolen again, so is it possible to get it welded without any future problems (making noise, etc...)?

OEM exhaust tips are expensive. Here in Toronto, it costs $120 at the dealership so I didn't buy it.

Weeks later, I found a similar one at Walmart for $7 at the clearance box and it's made of stainless steel, not chrome like the OEMs.

civic si / Honda S2000 exhaust tip finishers are 65 bucks a piece.

I think this is the part anyways:

College Hills Honda Parts
