How long should you take to break in your SI?
Hi, I'm new to this site but I just purchased a 2009 Civic SI with 6 miles on it. I'm wondering how long I should take it easy on her or get VTEC pumpin because I've heard it's good to give your engine time to get its feet wet. Also, are there some chemicals or fluids you think I should put into the engine at first to help it run smoother? I just really want to baby this thing and I feel like now's the time to start. Thanks for any input!

vtec'd it first through third gear (7 miles on odometer) on test drive. 300 miles later was at the track doing quarter miles and at 27k miles now w/o any problems. i don't know if it was good or bad for the car but i drove it like i would have any of my other cars.

I bought my car in 2007, drove it like a stole it since 12 miles (test drive)
at 3k miles the blower went on,track time, high revs out the wazoo, and now 2 years later (10kmiles) its running perfectily . Not my daily driver which is why theres not many miles on it. |
