Exclamation Drove through flooded streets!

Ok so heres what happened. Its being raining since 12 here in the Houston Area. Some areas got flooded and some didn't. So I got off work about an hour 1/2 ago and on my way home there was a lot of flooded streets. I couldn't turn back because the streets to turn back were even more flooded! So i stayed to the higher sides of the streets of course. I drove through some deep parts. I had to take different routes to get to my house to avoid the really flooded streets. When I drove through the water it was hard to tell how high the water was. Anyways when I was driving my breaks felt more stiff, I got home and opened up the hood to see what got wet. There was a few water spots on the engine manifold and the cover. Battery was really wet but not too extreme. Fuse box was kinda wet as well as some other parts. My car is stock except for the exhaust. Should I be worry?! I just hear a lot of stories of cars being hydro locked and stuff. Thanks I know I'm probably panicking for nothing but its my baby!

Hydrolocking is done with a cold air intake. If you hydrolocked with stock intake, you get a free brand new engine courtesy of Honda.

Ok so what part/parts of the engine needs to get wet for the car to mess up?

^^ The inside of the engine rofl.

Like, your intake has to suck up water, into the intake manifold, down into your combustion chamber, and then attempt to compress it, snap a rod, **** the engine and bam.

Has to suck up enough water to do that, which would probably be something like a full cup of water within a second.

Lol inside of engine.

Driving into ponds is not smart. That's how you ruin you car and its pretty much your fault if you do.

dude, i know what you mean ... but see .. i did what you did .. only i had a CAI installed in my car .. so here was my experience ... streets flooded .. come home from work ... i drive thru some water ... the oil and the batter light comes on ... car doesnt die .. but it doesnt go anywhere when i accelerate for a whole 4 seconds .. but feels like eternity ... worst feeling ever, specially on a brand new car ... then later i had to go pick up my buddy from work ... i hit around 6k RPMs ... the car just doenst feel like going faster ... and the check engine light blinks ... then goes away ... scared the SH*** out of me .. then. Good thing my buddy had a code reader at his place, and we read the codes on my ECU .. and it had misfired a couple of times ... but now it runs fine ... it happens because if some water gets in it .. then the water mixes w/ the oil .. and they just dont like each other very much .. but i dont wanna do that again .. looked for bypass valves ... couldn't find any turns out they dont make them for the newer Si's ... cuz of clearance issues ... UGH!!! ... the weathers gonna be like this in houston for a while ... sucks!!
