Automanual?
I've read in the owners manual that the automatics can be shift like a manual; from 1, 2, D3, D. I've personally never done it because i was always skeptical it might screw up the transmission. But a couple days ago while i was at Honda getting serviced, i met a guy with a 08 Accord who told me he really wanted a manual but had to settle for an Auto since it was the only one on the lot in his color.
So he told me he would shift it like it's a manual and he said it's just like a automanual shift mode. I'm just curious to know if anyone else does this and does it feel like it's stressing out the transmission? |

It's a good idea to downshift when approaching a red light, traversing downgrades. There are benefits to doing it. I've done it for almsot three years now, and there is no problem with my tranny. (also use the ebrake when parking) Search is yor friend, this topic has been covered so many times before. And ignore the haters. |

famous last words.... imagine how a those lucky 2008 gtr owners feel about this statement considering theyre looking at $35000 in transmission repairs due to something they could do. just because you can do it doesnt mean it wont stress anything.

^ the point is you can still **** up the car just cuz you "can" drive it...
i personally feel like it'd **** up the tranny so i dont do it, but if i see proof it doesnt, i'd love to drive it like an automanual |

15,000... 35,000 is more than double what that new tranny and install actually costs. |

actually, when i got my first car (97 mazda mx-6) i used to do this alot. i've "heard" that using the other gears are beneficial only when you hauling a heavy load (this is just something i've heard, so i do not know if it's right or wrong). i'd image something like when you're going up hill on a bike and you need to get into lower gears to make it easier. what i do know is that the tranny went out after like 2 years of owning it where as my wife's 92 mazda 626 beater is still going (even till today).
