HOW to install serpentine belt

Hi am trying to install serpentine belt honda civic 06 2doors i for got the belt position is possible give me the diagram to install the belt?

The local Honda dealer said there is no service interval for changing the serpentine belt, only to change it when it starts to crack. Does anyone know how long these belts are good for as I do not want to wait for trouble. My 06 civic has 120,000 km's on it. Thanks.

That's a K20, i'm not so sure the OP has a civic si...

I would imagine 80-100k miles would be safe, some cracking on the ribs is normal, but getting close when they do occur. And considering the age you may want to think about replacement.

The main thing you should be checking, if you have an auto tensioner setup, is if the belt is stretched.

There should be markings on the tensioner mechanism.

It would be pretty rare for the belt to just snap on you. Usually the tale tale signs of it going out, are squealing at start up, fraying on the ends, you'd be surprised how long those belts can last.

Now if the belt has been sitting for a long time in the same position, that is a different story, it could snap at that point, but we're talking years of sitting for that to happen.

for the DIYS people, there is a gauge available that you lay on the v in the serpentine belt, if it sits flush or below the belt is worn,my belt was 5 years old and 120,000 km's on it. My replacement belt was longer than original belt and Honda has decided to change the routing as well(new routing shown on package the belt comes in from Honda dealer).

when you but a new belt from a Honda dealer the new routing is featured on the packaging,do not follow the photo that is posted below as it is incorrect.

The new routing is for the R18 which is what I have, I do not know about the Si.

The photo posted looks like it is an Si motor and the routing may be correct, sorry for the confusion.

Aahh ok. I have an R18 too. Just wondering what the advantage of the new routing would be?? Seems like a strange change for what seemed to be a non-problem...
