Service Guy- Girls don't know anything

I went in to the dealer yesterday because i wanted the reflash for the rev hang and because my trunk liner was being pulled out and also my pillar by the side airbag wasnt sitting flush.
They look up my VIN to see about the reflash- nothing comes up for it, just for the O2 sensor. So the guy says they will do that and fix the other problems. I try and tell him to look up the bulletin but he wants nothing to do with it.

I left and went into the showroom and went on a computer. I then pulled up the service bulletin and printed it out. My car dealer was there so we went and showed the service writer. Oh now all off a sudden he listens to me!

They tried to update the ECU but they didnt have the updated software. The service writer said that someone was going to come in the next day and would update the software.

I now have to go back next week to get my pillar done because they needed to order a new part for it, and hopefully at that time I can get the reflash done.

So after waiting 2 hours I only got my trunk fixed. =)

To the service writer: Remeber some girls DO know about cars!

LMAO. You owned him big time!!! You should write a letter to the service manager mentioning this, it might help someone else in the future.

hmm my dealer knew about it. All I said was there is some rev hang issue with the ECU, and they looked it up right away.

GRRRRR! okay so a week went by and i just got off the phone with ther service guy. He still doesnt have the computer update! Why should I have to make 2 trips into the dealer- well 3 now really. I told him to call me when he gets the update and i will schedule an appointment.
I am thinking of just going over to the other dealer in town. Can I do that even tho I didnt buy my car from them???
My friend told me all they have to do is download a program and they are set to do the reflash- so what would it take over a week to get???

Yes, it true that the dealer mechanic or service department don't know much about our car. They just go by the computer info. I have to print picture and instruction for them. There time, I think they know shit at all.

Some of the bigger dealers dont care cause they just want the money. but some dealers def. can be asses about it.

thats actually one of the biggest reason im buying my car from down here at msrp, instead of going upstate and getting it for 1000 under msrp. i dont want to have to deal with it.

I actually dont work for honda, i currently work for mazda, and prior to that it was habberstad nissan and huntington jeep chrysler hyundai. A service department as large as hunt. honda should have the reflash. i mean the sell a shitload of cars. like 100+ a month. soo, im sure they have the reflash.
also remember there are like 5 honda dealers within 15 miles from me and you. so if hunt. honda doesnt have it im sure one of the dealers does.
