The other day I installed the metal shifter bushings and everything was perfect. Now today, the shifter started sticking in reverse, and now it wont go into reverse at all. On top of that its not shifting properly into second, third, fourth, and fifth. The shifter feels very loose. So.....I took out the metal shifter bushings and put the stock ones back in, and its still doing it. Apparently there is a problem in the cable somewhere! HELLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would recommend checking everything over and making it look like nothing was ever touched. make sure every thing is exactly how it should be. bring it in and dont admit to anything.. ANYTHING! they can ask and probe you all they want. dont admit that the issue can possible be at your fault. "its a manufacturor defect" that all you want to say or hear. trust me i work in a service department. just say it just starting being sloppy and then no reverse. thats all.. good luck

I was looking at the bushings and I've been doing alot of reading on clubrsx and a few other forums. The diffaculty getting it into reverse seems to be a common problem.
The rest of what you are experiencing seems like a shift cable is binding or you messed up something during the install or uninstall of the bushings. |

No difficulty with getting into any gear on mine with the brass bushings. My suggestion would to be have someone in the vehicle operating the stick while you observed first hand what is happening with the linkage. You are able to pop it into reverse with your hands under the hood no? Did you possibly bend the end of the cable somewhat while installing the bushings? Perhaps the solid cable mount is not placed correctly or itself bent?
A kind Honda dealer may take care of the issue with no fuss, but by no means are they idiots. I would not even presume to think that they would have no clue someone was down there working. You can't even get the cotter pins out without leaving marks of your efforts. |

Yes, the cable at the end is bent, and when you try to put it into reverse, the cable bends almost 90 degrees. Anyways my car is there right now, the service dept. is closed today because its labor day, so I will have my car back tomorrow, and they gave me an 05 accord as my rental car, and everything is covered under warranty. :)
