Why does your car need to be repainted? and where is this being done? I wouldn't trust this painter.

Wouldn't your friend's dad be able to supply the paint, or know the amount? BASF makes good paint I think.
Anyway, colors....

not sure about the quarts but i know a shop where they use dupont paint. its really high quality stuff but pretty expensive.

Dupont or spies hecker are my fav. paints. They are quite expensive though but they cover far better than other paints. As for the amount i would say a quart of sealer, 3qt sprayable for the base, and a gallon of clear. I did my whole 92 prelude jambs and all w/ a gallon dupont chroma base and a gallon of clear. Three coats of each. Heres a picture of my prelude( car was black)..its 98 honda nordic mist pearl b83m

I would go with Dupont. best selection & quality. plus they have some pretty nice colors, and it's durable. Any way you go it's probably better than OEM. Plus, you can decide how many coats of clear you want/need to protect your car's new paint.
