And its completely random on when it chooses to work and not work, so I dont think cold temps, hot temps, or warmed up car has anything to do with it. I've noticed that when it doesn't recongize me, it does 1 of several things.

For example, if the Radio is on right now and I press the voice button, the car goes *beep* and I proceed to say "Audio" it will 1) When working it says, "Audio Off" and then turns off the radio. Or 2) After 4 seconds from the time you pressed the button, it says things like, "Please repeat", "pardon", or "Can you say again" or 3) After 10 seconds from the time you pressed the button, it says the same things mentioned above. Or 4) Immediately after you speak, the car gives out 2 quick "beeps" and then the radio continues to play. Or 5) After 10 seconds 2 quick "beeps" are heard and the radio continues to play.

And my current settlings have the voice on and guidance command repeat on. Anyone else noticed these minor differences in there voice navigation system when the voice commands are not functioning? Does anyone know the difference between them?

I'm going to take it back to the dealer when it completely quits on me. But in the mean time can anyone help?
I just discovered this yesterday after having my Habi Si w/ NAV for a couple of weeks now. The NAV manual tells you that you can display the Audio Screen from any mode. However the manual says that the command is "Display Audio". I have been trying to make that command to work the last two weeks. Whenever I give the command, it would repeat everything but, ie "Display ATM". Yesterday, I finally discovered the secret or the quirk if you want. The command "Audio Display" works!!!

I've always said, "Display audio screen" and it works 100% of the time every time my navi accepts my commands...which is 10% of the time. :)

Replying to several messages:
1)hmm, interesting point.... I wonder if I have a mic problem in mine too.

2)I say "Display Audio Screen" too, I guess I'll chop off the display in the future for a short cut. It's like saying YES instead of OK in most menus as well. Also, its funny that you mention saying "Display Audio" and it says "Display ATM" cuz thats what happened to me for the longest time until I found it was "Display audio Screen"

3)About the version #. I have 6.11c as well. I bought my car this June. When I called Honda in June they said a new version will come out in Sept/Oct 06 time frame but last fall's v6.11c didn't come out until November 05. Anyway, just random FYI if anyone cares to know. =)

It's finally fixed and the new navi and mic works flawlessly. It now responds to all my inputs even though I may not be pronouncing the commands correctly. It works exactly how I first got my car...Now I have to wait to see if it fails again. I'll give it another 2-3 months and I'll report back to you guys. :)

P.S. I have the service paper and the warranty work costed 700 bucks! dang...I will describe the cost/item for you guys soon because I have some questions about it.

Well, I hope the mic fix does the trick for ya. Hopefully mine's caused by that too. Its still working for me on and off so I still haven't taken it in yet. I just hope it'll fail and fail for good so I dont have to deal with this sporadic crap anymore. Good luck guys.

How about that! The search function actually worked this time!

My nav has been working almost flawlessly in the time I've had it. I've had a couple of times where it was finicky about voice recognition but lately, it's been totally non-functional. I just tried the ol "mic punch" and now it's decided to cooperate. We'll see how long that lasts. At least I've got an idea of where the problem is and will bring it to the dealers attention the next time I'm in for a maintenance cycle. I don't necessarily expect them to do anything about it, especially if it's working at the time, but at least it'll be on record. Thanks for the help!

Steve R.

I've had one other time since my last post that it started acting up. It took two solid whacks to get it to listen up again. It's been doing just fine for the last week or so. I hadn't realized how much I used the voice recognition function until it wasn't working any more.

well, after wacking my civic's mic for a few weeks (which worked great), it quit responding to brut force. i took it in last week and it stayed at the dealer for 2 days. they still can't find the problem and i have to bring it in again next week for a speical "electronics tech" to take a look.

hey WARHEAD111, can you tell me what all they did to your car to fix the problem? i might have to tell the dealer what to do cuz so far they seem incompetent.

thanks.

I haven't punched a hole through my roof yet, but has anyone ever tried an after market microphone?

It's so frustrating that Sylvia doesn't understand me.

I'll flip a script on her map lights tomorrow AM.
