very weird thing happend

OK, so you know when you twist off the little black gas cap?

well there's supposed to be a little silver door like thing in there, well mines gone and my car is saying "check gas cap" under the tach, in the digital area.

my car isnt under warranty and more and honda wants 45 bucks just to look at it.

they said it is not dangerous, but that stupid gas cap warning is going to drive me nuts.

I'd be pissed! Little things piss me off, and yes, the light would drive me crazy

My car said that the other day. I stopped killed it, and cranked it, and it was still there. I was pretty low on gas. When i put gas in it, it's gone now. I'll look at mine tommorrow and see if that tab is gone.

Make sure when you tighten the gas cap it clicks a few times. Others I know have had the same problem and tightening the gas cap made it go away.

At least now it's identified as the gas cap. Other Hondas I've see it on used to just give you a check engine light.

Ive had that before. I just re tightened the gas cap and unhooked the battery for a minute to reset everything and it went away.

If it bothers you that much, go into dealership and get it done.

paying money and get it fixed > seeing the damn Gas Cap warning lights.

Read the manual.. It says that it will take 3 or 4 driving cycles after the cap is tightened for the warning to go away. In the meantime hit the select /reset button and it will go away for that driving cycle.
