CD player skipping

The CD player in my LX coupe skips every CD. I work at a CD Manufacture so I have tons of new CD to test it with. I tried burned discs and discs from different manufactures and it still skips. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Hrmms...it could be the CD player (obviously).

Not sure, does it need cleaning? My CD player in my LX was rejecting burned discs and non-burned CDs and it turns out I needed a new CD player.

Aside from burnt discs, have you tried a real disc?

Was it hard getting the dealer to give you a new player? I will call them today. I don’t think it should need cleaning it is a new car.

Most of the discs(not burned discs) I use are from my work, straight off the press. I tested some of them again to see if there were any problems with the discs and they are perfect.

If I were you, I call the dealership and explain your situation.

It turned out I needed a new CD player. I pretty much got the crappy factory stock radio. Actually to come to think of it, NONE of the CDs were working and kept rejecting everything. Burned discs or not, it wouldn't work.

They didn't charge me because I was still under warranty and my boyfriend works at the dealership where I bought my car and he knew the service manager so he took care of my CD player to keep his customers happy. =) That's good service.

That would depend on the dealership. Mine gave me so much shit before I showed up in person. He told me the manual says in writing they don't recommend burnt CDs. I had the manual in front of me when I was talking to him and said, that's not true - the manual said they don't recommend CDs with adhesive covers or thermal images. He said we weren't going to fix it anyways. I was pretty mad because his tone of voice projected the problem as if it was a human error. I showed up in person with the manual, sat down with the person who denied me on the phone and asked if he remembers me, he did and I said cool, now find me the page that said what you said on the phone. Needless to say, he flipped through it, couldn't find it, and we setup a time to fix it. No apology though, that bastard.
