I believe I would be beating them up to swap the '06 for an '07 Si since it was their screwup to begin with. My fear would be that there will always be electrical issues with the car and it will never be 100%.

Just my .02---

There is a good thing though. I have no rattles!
You have obviously never heard of some of the VW horror stories.

what you are posting is nothing big compared to some of the stuff these other guys go through.

i know this first hand working at a vw dealer!

Latest is

its some kind of ELEC/COMPUTER BUS that ties ECM, immobilizer, all the sensers, and the dash. Basicaly ties in EVERYTHING When it acts up like mine it needs to be replaced fast. If it go's out the car will not run. NOTHING will run.

waiting on parts.

I would really like an explanation on how this part runs. Is just some kind of computerized junction box that collects all the data from everything in the car and then sends the data were it needs to be?

Sorry to hear about all the problems with your car... hope everything gets resolved. I have a question about the "reflash" though (newb question ahead)... what is it for and is it only for the si or all 8th gens? I have an 06 LX coupe A/T, do I need this done?

It turns out everything runs though this thing called the "GAUGE CONTROL MODULE (TE/TACHOMETER) ASSY." Well not everything but everything that needs to send info the the cluster. This cuts down on wiring by everything going to this thing and then the "GAUGE CONTROL MODULE (TE/TACHOMETER) ASSY." send the right info to the cluster. Even the immobilizer goes thru this before getting to the ECU. ANd the ECU goes thru this thing to send info to the cluster.

Parts on order. And this is one of the parts they replaced the last time also. They think they may have pinched a wire when putting the last one in.

No really I now have a NB 07 with 7 miles on it. I HAD a GG with 7800.

The only thing I dont like is they drilled a hole in the front bumper to put on the front plate. Since my car registration is in florida I dont need a front plate. Now I need to go back in the morning and tell them to fix it. I know they are not going to give me a new front bumper but a small patch job should do fine.

Honda called my local dealer and told them what deal to give me to get me out of the one I had before I lemon lawed it and put that bad mark on them.

I bought my first one for 19950. They gave me 19500 for it.
The new one was 21350. I got it for 21000.

I really likes the GG better but now I SHOULD have no more problems. To date my GG one was 7 months old. A total of 39 days in the shop.

when I dropped off the car at the shop this is what was INOP!

all airbags
abs
elec steering
speedomiter
tach
temp gage
Fuel gage
and with all this the CEL was on.

We were looking at another new ECU, harness, gage control module, immobilizer, and the OBD port. THis was also all the same stuff that was wrong before. Honda tech said "hell if we know whats going on"
