Changing to synthetic make the engine noise louder?

Alright I have had synthetic in my S4 and Legacy GT and they both ran smoother and a little quieter. I just had Synthetic put in my Si at 5k and it seems like the engine is a little louder...That has to be something in my head I'm thinking...??

Please no Oil Wars. You like Pennzoil, others like Mobil One, some like Castrol Syntec. Personally, I think they are all about the same.

Mobil One has been around for a long time and is regarded as one of the better Synthetics out there. Heck, Porsche, BMW and Mercedes trust Mobil One in their cars from the factory and it's all they are using. So I guess they have all been scammed

i use Mobil1 exclusively on cars that i do oil changes on.
if not that, i would use Amsoil...if readily available.

and no, there should be no sound increase from the
oil change.

I second that. Been using Mobil One in all my cars and my Jeep Cherokee I just sold had 233,000 miles on it and the engine was still running strong.
Now the transmission is another story

On my next Oil change I will swap the Honda Oil with Mobil One 0W40.
Great all year performance especially made for High Revving Imports and Turbo Charged vehicles.

I had a very reputable place do the oil change-they work on high end Euro cars. I think from now on i'll do my own oil changes and deal with that oil filter..

Folks, quit peeing in the threads. I hate standing in it.

I switched to synthetic and immediately noticed that the engine was louder. It's not in your head.

I've tried Mobil 1 0W20 (for hybried), and regular Mobil 1 5W20, and oddly enough..my Civic coupe prefers 5W20, which is heavier....
