NBP paint issues?

I was just curious, I was reading another forum and there was a picture on there of a guy's car with the primer showing through on the fender. I never thought much about it before, but on my hood the black just never looked as deep and rich as I thought it should. Almost had more a gray overtone to it. Could this be the same type of problem? Was just wondering if anyone else had these issues?

black will always look like shit if it's not well maintained...it always has to be washed and waxed...thats the price you pay for a black car :S

That fender was mine! When I took it to the dealer he checked the thickness of the paint all over the car and surprisingly the hood had the thinnest layer of paint (on my car anyways) where it was showing through on the fender the meter said it was normal with the rest of the paint....go figure.

Black is so hard to maintain....you really have to love cleaning to keep this one up. I wash mine every 3 days or right after it rains...whichever comes first (I've even washed it in the rain knowing the roads will be dry by the time I drive it..I know, I'm sick) and plenty of wax...especially on the hood and front bumper

Damn shame there is so much orange peel in it though. You would think they could do a better job than that. My NBP has a ton of it.
