I Love it..See the Pics,,

Love NOT....
More problems with the ac..if planning to buy a civic think twice...
Hey I took my 06 civic to the dealer today for ac problems....at red lights and busy stop and go traffic my car shakes and the ac blows out hot. They told me today that nothing was wrong with my car. The are full of shit! So I guess the car was made to be cool on long distant drives but in busy traffic and red lights your suppose to burn up. I contacted consumer relations and the man told me to go back to the dealer and request to speak with the manager and have him take a drive with me to show him exactly what my problem his... So I am sure to be back at the dealers Monday morning bright and early ready to complain!!!

the a/c is weak, especially on a hot day. But I think that's mainly because the engine bay is so small they couldn't fit a bigger one in (maybe). Also by using a smaller a/c i'm sure it helped cut costs by a bit. Not that it would make a huge difference price wise but it's interesting to see where honda cleverly cut corners to sell the civic at such a good price. You situation though does sound like perhaps a problem with the a/c. I'd make the manager sit in the car and ride around with you until it happens.

Just go ghetto style, and, roll down the windows and open up the sunroof for cost saving efficiencies.

i like my car as cool inside as any one else and I have no problem with the A/C in my civic. Once i get it cooled down (which takes no longer than 5 minutes usually) I don't have have to have my fan higher than two or three notches on the fan selector. I keep mine on recirculate most of the time too, with the fan blowing face and feet.

when im stopped and my car is idleing with the AC it does vibrate my car a bit, i think its normal and all cars do that, but it is a bit noticable on the civic.

honestly i think you're going to waste your time going back to the dealer, and you should keep it on circulate, my car gets really cold with that on

No problems here. It sounds like it's your car. Not a Civic-wide problem. I'd take it to the manager and see what results you can get.

No problems with my a/c here either. If your thinking about buying a Civic I suggest making sure everything works properly before signing the papers and driving it off the lot.

Can't really do that with the Si...chances of you driving the one you'll buy are slim to none

The dealer will let you test drive the car you are about to purchase. So, what I was saying check everything out on the test drive before signing the contact.

Ditto. If you're sitting in traffic, the air being blown through is supposed to be hot on a hot day. Sounds like you don't have it circulating.

It's easier on the engine I think if you use re-circulate along with the air-conditioning. It's already recirculating cold air, so the engine doesnt have to work too hard at making more air cold.

That's what I've been told at least.

Actually it (bad cooling on very hot days) may be a large percentage of civic owners problem...so yes it may be a common problem due to a faulty design. In no way should hot or ambient temperature air blow out the vents at stops for traffic or whatever. Since airflow through the condenser is reduced at stops the temperature through the vent may vary somewhat but it should NOT blow hot air. All anyone here has to do is check the various complaints on this and other owners sites to see that poor AC performance is a big topic for this car. That some are happy with the performance of their specific AC only proves that everybody lives in different areas and "hot" to them may be 80 degrees also everybody has different expectations. I like COLD air at all times when it is a humid 90+ out but I see some people just driving around with their window open and they are happy. To say "go ghetto" and open windows and sunroof is not an option to many including me...its why I have AC!

<30 mph, the circulate button will force out more air than if they are open; >30 mph, turn off the circulation button so some of the wind resistance pushes more air in. Just some advice.
