Fellow k20 needs transmission help

hey guys, i am drive a 2002 rsx-s and the transmission just blew. i have to replace it, theres no question about it and i do not want the same tranny inside. I know the 05-06 rsx tranny will fit fine and has a shorter 6th gear so thats tempting but im also wondering if the civic si tranny is any better than that? to my understanding the civic si and 05-06 tranny are identical but i just want that reassurance. also will the civic tranny bolt right up to my rsx? i am on crsx but i dont feel like making a thread there for fear of starting a flame war. thank you.

i just checked k20a.org and it is possible so i guess my new question is... is the civic si tranny better than the 05-06 rsx and is there any other tranny that you would recommend over those two. My choices are replacing the whole assembly or rebuilding the transmission i already have and putting on the shorter FD. what do you guys recommend? am i better off buying the rebuild parts? thank you.
