Unhappy What does it mean when my car is doing this?

07 AT EX. My car shakes at ever stoplight but when I am moving the car feels fine. it is only when my car is in idle that it would shake like a vibrator. What are all the possible things that could cause this? Do i need new spark plugs or something?

mine usually shakes a little when stopped also. Regardless the A/C being on or not.

It means your idle is a little too low. Try teaching it how to idle again, but if that doesn't work, you'll have to tap into your ECU and change the idle speed.

no nope not the a/c drawing electricity nor any other electronics drawing power since everything is off. this is just continuous shaking at the stop lights. could be my idle is too low. I tested to see if this is in fact true so i turned on all my lights and AC MAX and everything to make the idle higher but it still shakes.

as far as injector cleaning goes, could be but I use V-Power from shell and arnt they suppose to help keep things clean? I only have 23k miles on my car

Also tried teaching the Idle to my car without and sucess. How do i get into the ECU and make the idle higher?

It sounds like you have a major problem here.

Once word gets out about this, women will be constantly asking you for rides.

Haha sorry but the only thing I can think of after the OP was the vibrator comment. Lol. Good luck with your issue.

First, you may have the a/c on and not even know it. These civics are programmed to run the a/c compressor in lots of situations even if the light isn't on. There's some steps you can follow so it always lights up the a/c button every time the compressor is running, so you can turn it off. If the a/c compressor's clutch is engaged, it puts extra load on the engine, which lowers idle rpm. The computer is supposed to know the a/c compressor is spinning and increase the idle speed a little to compensate. Next time it starts vibrating, put your left foot on the brake and bring up the idle rpm maybe 200rpm or so, if the problem goes away then you know it's just an idle speed issue, which the dealer should be able to correct.

AWESOME guess what!!! I have been trying to conquer this problem since like a month ago when i first intslled my CAI. i didnt tell you guys that because everyone would have concentrated on that as the problem. Anyways I am not sure what made my car stop shaking. But i noticed that for a month my idle was at 600-650 and would drop as low as 590 sometimes. Anyways to get to the solution of my problem, I did the ECU idle relearn thing (10th time) maybe it was my first time being sucessful but im not sure if i have been doing it incorrectly this whole time or not but I also decided to fuel up Regular gas instead of the supreme today. Maybe thats what helped ? my Idle is at like 700-720 and the shaking has also stopped. I was pretty pissed off because of my car shaking all retardedly. I was at the point where i was going to say that i Hate my car but my car is all fixed now =] awesome!!!!!

Yea we would have focused on your CAI, you modified your intake, that has a huge effect on your engine. It also would have helped in figuring out how to fix the issue. Even now, it seems as though that was your problem. You installed it, your car started messing up... Here is your sign.
