Ingalls power stick install issues

I recently got a ingalls power stick to add with my ETD. While installing it i had the most difficult time trying to adjust it to line up with the 2 bolt holes over the engine mount toward the front of the car. I tried everything and i put to its shortest possible length and i still couldn't get it to fit. So i decided to take off one of the nuts since it has one on both sides and i adjusted it to its smallest length again and it fit. So i took it back out put the nut back on tried to play around with it some more to get it to fit but i had no luck it was like the bar that linked up both pieces together was to long or something so i gave up and called ingalls. So the guy " i forgot his name" he just told me to take off the nut towards the back of the power stick and leave one on towards the front and install it and it will be fine. So i was just wondering if any one has had an issue like this one, and i ordered it from corsport about 4-5 days ago.
