'08 Civic - Can't get into 1st or 2nd

I just tried to enter my garage, but my civic wouldn't let me engage into 1st or 2nd (It wouldn't let put the shift knob left at all)
I had to climb up the ramp in third gear and stalled out.

The car is a 5 speed manual transmission (Civic EXL), and it only has 3000 KMs on it.

Has anyone else experienced this?

You know how you put the shift knob left to go into 1st or second? I can't even move it left...

try wiggling it in neutral then try first

I sat in my garage fiddling around trying to get it into first gear in a non violent or forceful way.

But anyways, I decided I was going to drive it to the dealership and leave it there over night instead of doing this in the morning on my way to work while the traffic was busy (While starting off in 3rd at every stop)

About 2 blocks on my way there, my shift knob finally wanted to go left... but not with a little bit more effort than normal... it grinned for 2 seconds and I finally got it in (not fighting it in). It seems to be good now, but I think I should still take it in... pisses me off that I had to grind it...

I've heard of rocks getting stuck in the linkages, do you think this is what happend?
