Bought an Si but got a Mugen????

I just purchased a civic si sedan and my insurance came in with the right vin number an all but says my car is a Mugen. Is this what happens with everyone? I called my insurance company and they said that if the vins right thats what the car reads.

nope. and seeing that you have a silver si.. it seems even MORE unlikely that you would have gotten a Mugen. Check your VIN with your insurance company and call American Honda if you have to in order to clarify things. That's what I would do. Good luck though!

is your car fiji?
does it have any mugen parts?

i would call american honda. and definetly get your insurance to correct it. theres no point in paying to insure a more expensive car than you actually have.

before you go and clear it up you should take advantage of the mistake but yeah if it costs you more in insurance you should get it corrected or demand that honda actually give you a mugen for the mixup

*knock on wood* I hope you dont total it. But, if you did, anndd you were not hurt, that would be crazy. You would get a new car a few weeks later, and to your surprise, they hand you the keys to a Mugen. I would be like F---yea.

judging by your avatar, the list of things wrong woudl be:
1. you have a coupe..mugen was only 4 door
2. its silver...mugen was only fiji blue
3. you have an 06...mugen was only made in 08
4. you have an R18 motor

tell your insurance to get their data correct. which BTW im suprised they were able to say its a mugen since the VIN doesnt read "mugen" to anyone except honda.

lol. now that makes a little more sense. but still not true that its a mugen. dont pay premium rates (if any on a mugen) for a car you dont have.

Reading sometimes helps.

But insurance rates can be a lot higher being that people would want to steal parts or the car itself.

reading what? that his insurance is coming up as owning a mugen and that he mentioned nothing of how much his rates are? so maybe he should make sure that he isnt paying a premium for a mugen that he doesnt own?

because i fail to see any of that mentioend in this thread.

^you confused or somthing?
i understand what he bought. i also understand the sentance right after that...the one that reads:
Quote:
and my insurance came in with the right vin number an all but says my car is a Mugen
so im telling him to make sure that his insurance is adjusted to not pay the premium of a mugen (if there is one, as i imagine there would be because if in an accident parts will cost much more to replace) since his vin reads as a car that it is not.
