3.9 quarts?

Hey sorry for the noob question, but I just changed my oil and i looked in the manual and it says 3.9 quarts for the 08 ex. I put that in exactly and started the car then turned it off. checked the dipstick and its not even reading any. The full notch is that bump on the orange stick right? I put 1/2 quart more and still nothing. Let me know what I'm doing wrong.

I had an LX for a year before totalling it. Same engine as the EX and I put 4 quarts in at every oil change and the oil was right where it was supposed to be. I haven't changed the oil in my new EX yet but it's the same engine (R18) so I would assume a similar amount would fill it.

why not just put 4quarts in and see what it sits at. .1 quarts wont make a difference.

You might just have to wait a little longer for the oil to settle... I can't imagine it taking all that long though.

you dont have to be at the full line... just in between.

you just have to be between the 2 dots. Midway is probably a good spot to shoot for.

MY Si takes 5.5 quarts to get midway between the 2 dots.

The ex/lx/dx takes 4.5 most likely.

I just don't like how hard the dipstick is to read. Are you supposed to read this at the hatch marks at the bottom or between the half circle protruding dot?
