Call it in! Doooooo it!

The more people we get complaining, the faster it'll go on the priority list. Apparently their working on it, but it's not considered a major concern for them. Let's make it one!

hey stevieray, thanks for all the great info! I just talked to the service manager at my local dealer, and i have an appointment on thursday. He didn't know about the service bulletin until i gave him the number. He said it will be covered under warranty, and it could take a few hours.

btw, I have a m/t ex coupe. i'll post the results on thursday.

Let me get it out and play with it this weekend and I'll try to post up some more feedback next week.

As far as I know, I'm the first R18 owner to get the reflash. Nice to be first at something, anyway----
Now that you've had the reflash for a while, what do you think? Improvements? Any change in fuel economy? Any drawbacks?

I think I'll schedule a visit! I have an EX Sedan AT and I just chalked the 1st gear lag up to the fact that this is the first 4 banger I've had since my '96 Civic.

The TSB states that the reflash fix is for the Si. Here's a copy of it at TOV:

http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-messa...sage_id=597807

Are you sure that the reflash works for the EX/LX too?

If it does, then what if the service advisor gives you grief about it? What should you say? After all, it doesn't say in the TSB that the reflash is for the EX/LX as well. It only says it's for the Si. He would have a point there.

Darvin, basically my SM didn't give a ****. He knows that I am an informed customer and not am not going to come in there asking for something that doesn't apply to me. He's also smart enough to know that if they issued an ECU program update for the Si that focuses on DBW programming that it probably effects the LX/EX models as well. Sure enough, when the tech started applying the HDS .008 software, there WAS an update for my model and it has made a difference. I've only gone thru a 1/2 tank but MPG seems to be slightly improved and throttle response is GREATLY improved. It ain't perfect but it's a damn sight better than what it was.

Oh yeah, I did the Si sway bar upgrade on Saturday too. Talk about getting your money's worth---

I called my dealership today re: V2.005.008 for the R18
and he still knew nothing of the sort. But he was real
cool about it and is checking into it to see if we need
to get it from the U.S, etc....

I also let him know of the bad V2.005.005 which tripped
error codes just so he knew not to get this one up on
his tablet. lmao!

he should get back to me sometime within the next day or
two. ill update if i find anything out on this issue?

Ok just a lili update. I brought my car in to Goudy Honda in Alhambra and they're absolutely no help. Stevie, i did exactly what you told me, and they disreguarded everything. They said, if there's a problem, we'll fix it, even after i repeatedly stated the problem and the solution. I just dropped the car off so i don't know what the results will be, but either way don't go to that dealer.

I feel bad for so many of you. I took the TSB into my dealer in IL, he said with a smile, "...we will have that done for you in 30mins". 29 mins later it was done.

Great experience.

Would anyone else like to share their thoughts on how their car is now reacting after the update?

Of the people who have had this reflash performed, did you specifically ask for a reflash or did you mention the TSB? What was the approach? My dealer gave me the run around.

I mentioned that there is a new TSB on this issue (DBW lag and rev-hang) and they said, "best if you bring it in then we'll look at it."
