5at automagic tranny slipped hard
car is 6 weeks old, 3000 miles, i drive a huge amount on the highway. I'm 22 and responcible, i'm not racing this econobox its always on cruise control everywhere i go. Tranny fluid looks good and is the right level.
Yesterday i came outta work and onto the main road. about 30-40 feet from my parking spot. Gave it the normal amount of gas i usually do, i accellerate normaly, i dont baby it and i dont push it. It reved to about 3k rpm and banged into gear. Fluke? Common problem? any opinions because i know the dealer "wont find" this problem if i take it in, or at least they wont find it till the tranny has exploded which they will then blame on my HKS oil cap i ordered. |

wow.... haven't heard of tranny slippage already. I got rid of my 06 and one reason was because of the tranny, it didn't fail, I just didn't like how it was geared. IMO a car should not have to down shift while going 70 MPH on the highway just to go up a small hill. But it never actually slipped on me, that amazing. Hope it was just a fluke, but if it happens agian, I would start taking it in to the dealer, they may at least drain the tranny fluid or something and see metal in there or something.
