Which Brand of Synthetic for 06 EX

Hey Guys,

This is my first post on this site, although I have lurked for some time. This is a great site with great info, so I wanted to aske a simple, but inflamatory question--Which synthetic 5W20 oil is best for the Civic's new motor?

I only have 6oo miles on her so far, but planning on changing at about 3000 miles. At that point the synthetic will be used for the life of the car.

I have used Castrol Syntec full synthetic (10W40) in my Honda St1100 motorcycle and 97 Toyota truck and have been happy, but the Civics needs may be different.

What brand is best? Thanks for any info.

You don't have to use the "recommended" 5w20 and I recommend AMSOil 5w30 or even easier to find and just as good a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 SuperSyn 5w30 from WalMart

I use Mobil 1 0W20 full synthetic, car runs smooth as hell...and no oil burn after almost 5000 miles.
