Unhappy Three irritating problems

Hello all. First time poster. I just had my DX-G in for it's first check up, and asked them to deal with a few problems. They corrected none of them. Here they are in no particular order:

1. Poor FM reception. I get a rapidly repeating ticking/thumping noise in the background whenever I tune to an FM station. They say they've had similar complaints, but don't know how to fix it.

2. Clicking noise coming from the accelerator pedal. Unless I'm extra smooth with the pressure, I get the noise every time I press it or let off on the pedal. They claimed they couldn't hear it.

3. Poor door alignment. The passenger side rear door looks like it's ajar, even when it's closed tightly. Again, they claim they adjusted the passenger front door, but didn't see anything wrong with the others.

I know I'm being picky, but I truly believe in Honda's quality, and I don't think I should have to settle. Anyone else having any of these problems?

Thanks and I'm glad to be aboard!

welcome to the site. I'm not sure where you're located, but if you've got another dealership in your area - I'd stop in.

Bring up the issues you have with your door etc, and see what they can do for you. One dealership might be a lot better for you than another. You can take your car for service anywhere in the US - not just where you bought it.

I agree I'm going to have to try another dealership. It's a shame, because the one I brought it to is supposed to be "award-winning". I've had other cars with built-in antennaes in the windshield, and this is the first time I've experienced this reception problem. I was hoping it was just a loose connection of some kind. As for the gas pedal, I don't understand why they couldn't just tighten up the pivot point or make some kind of adjustment. It's the old curse though...they never seem to hear the same weird sounds at the dealership that the customer does when driving.

Ive never had any of those problems... but If i did, I wouldnt settle for it either. And for the record, what exactly is a DX-G? I keep seeing that, is that just like a DX?

Is your car a sedan?

Yes, it's a sedan. A DX-G is basically a souped up DX..comes with a bunch of goodies the DX doesn't.

Mine so far has no Issues, my radio is fine, maybe because I have navi....Take it to a dealer in your area, someone will fix it...

I've picked-up my EX sedan 2 weeks ago (after a 5 week wait). I experienced 1 and 3.

The FM reception was poor for one station while driving by a cell tower (my radar detector always beeps by that area also). But only occured a few times, then it 'fixed itself' and went away.

The driver's door was also sticking out ~3mm when closed. They adjusted it and now it's good.

As for the accelrator pedal, there was a recall (or TSB). Probably dealer checked and I'm sure they said it's not affected.

There was/is a recall for the accelerator pedal. The problem was physical...some early build cars did not have the pedal secured properly at the floor.

the passenger door seems to be designed to stick further out than the driver's side. Seen it already on quite a few sedans...I thought it was a problem with mine at first.

Is this true?
I just noticed that the passenger door on my coupe is not flushed on top part with the body (sticks out about 1/4 Inch).
Do I need a door adjustment or should I just let it go?

Did you get your windows tinted? Ceramic tint I know interferes with Navi so it might interfere with radio too. The Gas pedal just needs to be adjusted / tightened and it wont make that noise. The door issue I don't know I haven't noticed that problem

i have a problem with my passenger door not lining up flush with the front fender, the stealership called this a saftey feature, "leading edge technology," is what they called it. they say it helps prevent the door from being un-openable in the event of a collision. funny thing tho, i guess they dont give a $hit about the driver because the driver side ligns up perfect. genghiskon, as far as the tint goes, i see no difference in the navi system with ceramic tint, just as $itty now as it was before, absolutely no change. i had a 2000 ex that had ABSOLUTELY NO problems, this 8th gen is full of them
