Hissing Noise after Engine Shutdown?

Hey guys,

I did a search on the forum but didn't find anything on this. After I parked my car in my garage today I noticed a hissing noise coming from the front [engine?] and it sounds kinda like air is leaking out of somewhere. I'm new to cars so don't know much about it. If it matters at all it was very hot today and I was running A/C almost the whole time. The noise lasted a good 3 minutes and it didn't sound very nice. Has anyone else experienced/heard about this problem? Thanks!

Yes I also heard this in my car. I got out and bent down to pick a up a piece of trash of the ground in my garage and heard a hissing noise on the right side of the engine. I had to have my ear right up to the front grill to really hear it though. I don't know what it could be.

Snake! Snake! OOooo, it's a snaaaake!

My car does it too. It's just a cooling off process. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Lol. ^^^

If you think hissing is bad, you should have heard the sounds my del Sol used to make when it was cooling down.

I posted the same question a few months ago with almost the exact title. So don't know how you searched but I have heard the same hissing. It is just the A/C releasing pressure.

Since the AC system is a closed loop it isn't venting pressure but it is equalizing between the high and low pressure sides of the compressor. All normal!

Normal. When you shut off an engine, it is still sucking air, and since you have a CAI installed, you can hear this phenomenom happening right before you.
