Wierd Vtec sound

well, i went to a race after a long night of cruzin and then i started my car after the race and hit it in first and when it hit vtec the sound was twice as loud as i have ever heard then i shifted and then it did it again in 2nd gear it really freaked my out then i tried it in 3rd and it sounded normal soo i slowed down and pulled over and my car was idling really rough you could feel the engine idling that how bad it was so i shut it off for like 10-20mins and then started it again and the rough idle was gone that was good news then i hit vtec in 1st and 2nd and 3rd and it all sounded normal

has anyone else had this problem??
what could of caused it?
does anyone else car seem to acted alittle different with a cai on then how it drove with a stock one? (i don't mean it had more power of anything)

You ecu probable went under a short shock where it hasn't experienced what you do it and it adapted to it. The "i" in i-VTEC puts the machine to fix itself sometimes. The rough idle might of came from the confusion between the higher with the lower profile lobes. Just try not to be too rev-happy till you've fully broken in your engine.

ARe you serious? "I" means the computer adjusts the intake cam timing for what it seems appropriate... And its physically impossible for the high lobe to intervine with the low cam... You should really read how vtec works, before you start giving people suggestions...
