pop (more like explosion) w/ rumble at startup

Hi guys, i did the usual search and google with no success.

This morning when i started my car, i heard an explosion and my car felt like it moved back (maybe a sway?). E-brake was still on too which made me worried. Im driving a 2008 lx coupe automatic (canadian). After the initial 'explosion' everything was fine.

A week ago at startup, i put it into reverse and i heard a 'pop' sound. Now from my search i've found other people with this problem too, but im wondering if this is tied to the problem i had today?

If the engine backfires into the intake it makes a loud explosion like sound. Sometimes it's even bad enough to explode the intake manifold.

I know of a few cars that have software updates out for them because of this, not sure if the Civic is one of them.
