Bought new rims/tires

Hey guys, i recently bought a new set of rims/tires through tirerack for my car (17 volk TE37's for those of you that care, wrapped with 215/45ZR-17 BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sports). I ordered the tpms's and had them mount/balance the tires. So i take my car to a shop, have my wheels swapped, and i drive for about 30-40 miles then my tpms light comes on. I've tried searching and some threads have said to disconnect the battery while others say take it to a shop to have it looked at. Has anybody had this problem? If so how did you solve it

The computer can only be set up for one set of sensors at a time. Since you've changed sensors, you must take your car to a honda dealer and have them re-train the TPMS computer to work with the new set. I believe they generally charge 90-150 bucks for this manuever.

It's really a pain. Between buying a new set of sensors and having the TPMS reset you are talking $300-400. I chose to break one bead on the stock wheels and extract the sensors and install them on my new wheels. It's a whole lot cheaper, and there's no way to swap back and forth between two sets of sensors without paying the dealer to setup the TPMS computer at every change.

damn that sucks, thanks for the info. Unfortunately i sold my stock rims w/tires so taking out those sensors wasn't an option. Ill have to save up since i spent nearly all my money on my rims/tires lol

PM ThePiper, aka Tom. He works at Discount Tire as a manager. He knows his stuff. He has dealt with many issues regarding TPMS.
