id like to know that too, but as far as i know you should rotate your tires.
they say around 10-12k miles you should do that and especially if you drive your car hard and peel out occassionally. If youre gonna keep your car stock, just get a K&N drop in filter and youd never have to change your air filter again. Always keep your tires inflated well too! I havent done much yet or need to and im at around 12000 miles already. I have an injen cold air intake and use mobil1 5w30 oil every 3,000 or so on my 07 Si coupe.

There's no need to do an alignment if its going straight. I've had cars that went for 90K without the need for an alignment. I did however bring in my EX 7K cause it WAS pulling to the right. After the tech drove it and confirmed it, they tried to charge me for it saying that I must have hit a curb or something, but after pointing out that the tires and rims are perfect, they adjusted it under warranty.

at 15,00 miles, the only thing you should be changing is the oil. Your air filters shouldn't be anywhere near where they need to be changed unless you live on a gravel road. You should check your tires to see if they need to be rotated, but they shouldn't yet. (Unless you try to drive your civic like a lotus) I have 20,000 miles on mine and the tires are still identical with the exception of a nail hole in one
Wonder how that got there...

the K&N drop in filter is better than the stock. First of all its better material and much thinner so you get more air. I had it on my Si before I installed my injen cai. Vtec sounded a little bit more loud buttttt what the hell just get a cold air intake! youll love it. more power, better sound, better mpg (thats if you dont get to excited to always hear the vtec) sounds sweet! It's up to you though, just my suggestion!

So how many of you pay the dealer for the expensive $15,000 mile service?
I"m due next week. 06 SI with 16,000 miles and 15% left on oil minder. Got the money...don't have the time to do stuff myself. Just wondering if this is a Honda Dealer mandatory profit BS or something worth doing? |

they say we dont have to do it till a 100k tune up. air filter i would change just get a cold air, you should change your oil every 3k, check brakes, fluids, rotate tires thats about it really. and truthfully im at 12,800 and i dont have no problem my brakes are like half half tires still fine all i do is change my oil every 3k and i just got a CAI, and my stock air filter i took out was clean as new....

In corrective theory(I work for Michelin) you should rotate your tires every 5,000 miles.
Check tire pressure, oil level, and all other fluids at every fuel tank fill up. As far as filters go,unless you live in dusty or dirty conditions, every 30k is recommended(I was also a honda/acura tech for 8 yrs).If a dealership is doing there job correctly, the tech should check that at every oil change or service interval(easy up-sell,so be careful). BTW:Our cars have maintainence reminders. It goes by mileage based on factory equipment,so it not 100%,but serves as a pretty good dummy light. Vehicles equipt with rear drum brakes are the one that need rear brake adjustments, and they are recommended to have a clean and adjust every 7,500 miles.
