what's wrong with changing it at 3k miles? it's not wasteful at all. yes, the honda manual does state 5k miles, but i would much rather be safe than sorry and change it at 3 or 4k miles (depending on the oil), esp. since i drive an Si.

you get a mere 5 hp at most increase. IMO, a CAI is not worth it. what happens in the event u drive over a puddle of water?
