Cheap material around the key ignition...

I just noticed when I was cleaning my car this weekend that the plastic around my key hole is fairly scratched up. Obviously it was because there were times it was dark and I was searching for the key hole and missed but damn, there are so many scratches there and it's just fugly.

Anyone else have this problem?

Not sure if the Si is any different around that area.. but I have a LX sedan.

It's not. The area was slightly scratched from the asshats at the dealership I bought my FBP Si from.

I actually take my time when I put the key in making sure I don't scratch anywhere.

Its not just the plastic near the ignition. It is all of the plastic interier that is cheap and prone to marring. It is either too soft, or too brittle, but I have not seen plastic this prone to easy damange in any car I have owned to date.

I honestly do not have this problem, i hear a ton of people complaining about the plastic being crappy. None of my plastic is scratched or marked ? My elbow leaves dry skin marks on my door thats about it and wipes right off, lol.

you could probably get some super fine grit sand paper to get them out. the plastic is already soft as you said.

just something to look into.
