Problems with intake and hondata

Hi,

I have an AEM Intake and Hondata in my 2007 Honda Civic Si Sedan. I've had them for about 8 months now with no problems. About a month ago the check engine light came on. It turned out to be an emissions sensor. A few weeks later it came on again. When I took it to the dealership they said that the light was coming on because of the aftermarket intake. Again this light never came on before and when it did come on the first time it was for a faulty sensor. They reset the sensor and its on again. Has anyone had any problems with these upgrades? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I think I remember the first batch of AEMs caused cel's but not sure if this is related or not

Do you know if AEM did anything to correct this?

I know that most of the people that bought newer ones did not have a problem.

Hope I am not too late to respond to your question! This is Sami from AEM. I would urge you to take a look at the airflow straightener/coupler. Incorrect installation of this component could lead to the symptoms you're having with your car. The purpose of the straightener is to smooth the turbulence of the airflow just before it hits the MAF sensor. This will keep CELs away and ensure you're not running too rich or too lean.

Here is the airflow straightener/coupler

This is how to correctly install/align the airflow straightener with the MAF sensor

Now, this is an INCORRECT installation. Don't try this on your car!
