Stripped Motor mount bolt hole

So I go to install my stiffy and I found out that my motor mount bolt hole is stripped. Should I use a helia coil or a tap and die set on the threads. How could this happen could Honda have done it from the factory or from the mounts moving so much and causing stress on the bolt and threads?

A tap would be the best way. Assuming you can use the next size larger bolt for your mount the best fix would be to tap it to the next thread size up and use that size bolt.

A Heli-coil isn't the best option, but would probably work if you have to use the same size bolt as original (if only that size will fit in the mount). With a Heli-coil kit you tap the hole bigger, then install the Heli-coil threads so you can use the original bolt.

ya, try to use a tap first, u can even try tapping the hole with the same size, happened to me what i did a tranny on r18, one of the tranny mount stud was seized and aluminum came out with the thread, i was able to tap the hole with the same size and reuse the same stud
