R18 3rd issues

Anyone having problems with their 3rd gear on an R18? Was going to store with wife last night and went to put in 3rd and it was grinding like nobodies business. Yes clutch was down all the way, no I wasn't racing, yes I didn't mis shift. Thanks.

i have one its all ****** up 3rd grinds and tranny clicks when the let go of the clutch sucks!!! and honda wont even fix it.

i drive the hell outa my 5 spd. never a problem what so ever.

This is the first time having a problem with the tranny. The thing is, I barely have 2000 miles on the car and it worries me that this may be a bonafide problem. I can understand if I was beating on it, racing, or just missed the gear, but I didn't. I have the clutch fully pressed and it was if I had no clutch left. This is not my first vehicle with a stick and it certainly won't be my last. I've had a 80 280 ZX 5-spd, never grinded. A 96 Mustang GT and have grinded on occassion, but that was from beating on her. A 90 Hyundai Excel, never grinded. I've driven all sorts of trucks, from little box trucks, to tractor trailers, so I can safely say my experience driving a stick is more than adequate.

someone grinds their tranny and jumps online to see whats wrong

like stated it happens to everyone, it happens in all cars...hondas have a known 3rd gear problem throughout civics....ive had my car 4 months first new car first 5 speed and havent had any issues...thing drives like a champ

I used to have some small problem with the third gear being a little notchy/sticky a bit but fixed it before it got any bigger,used Amsoil MTF and as you guessed it it's all good now.
