IMO you are being a bit of a hypocrite here. The title of the thread said you were seeking advice from people experienced in bodywork/fabrication to help you. You built parts out of bondo against the professional advice you sought and now are getting pissed of because the experienced people are telling you it was a bad idea. You asked for advice and now you're getting it, it's not our fault you decided to do it your way, so don't get mad at us when we tell you it was a bad idea.
I asked for ideas, I got them, and i did what I wanted to do. Contintually critizing what I've already done doesn't help, so what's your point?

I'm painting it myself, I'm not going to waste any more money than the cost of painting it. You think it'll break, I don't. I think I'm a pretty smart guy (compared to the avg person) and common sense tells me that this whole vibration thing is a load of crap. This piece undergoes no stress and will be sitting on top of soft foam tape (and bolted down, obviously). Common sense would dictate to me that as long as there is a little gap in between the two spoilers, then it would have plenty of room for all this expansion you think will be happening.

Yeah, it's real easy to look at the first pics of a process that hasn't even been begun being refined and criticize. And I used dowels that I screwed into the sides of the middle piece, not 'sticks', to anchor the bondo to it.

Yeah, you're right, this looks awful. Even that picture still needs a ton more work, yet it looks pretty good. Follows the lines of the original piece. If you think you can do better, prove me wrong.

I haven't been following the thread but i was just reading your first post, not sure if anyone suggested it, but how about just plain fiberglassing the additions, like you're building a speaker box. I think the material should be strong enough to not break or shatter with all the vibration, I mean i doubt that the trunk has more vibration than a subwoofer can.
I would just build the extensions with fiberglass if the way you have it now doesn't work, just a suggestion. I would try to build a skeleton out of MDF or any other strong material that you can get and then fiberglass that.

Common sense is a super power now days. The expansion rates to in wich they are refering is the expansion on the Fiberglass spoiler that you attached 2lbs of Bondo too.
If you wanted poor qaulity you could have just told us that you wanted the fast easy look like crap way. Then none of us would have even wasted the minutes of our time to try and explain to you the proper way to do it.

Honestly the right way would have been to sculpt a piece of Foam to the same shap and then cover it in glass, I would have overlapped the original a little and smoothed it all with a milkshake and then finished it off with a few thin scrapes of Rage extreme.

This is what foam covered in a couple differant types of glass looks like before any sanding.
#1 is only resin
#2 is Mat and Resin
#3 is a Milkshake (mix of resin and body filler)
#4 is Chop strand mat and resin
#5 is only filler

" If that were the case, how come buildings, cars, etc don't fall apart in 5 years? Nothing is made of the same part 100% through and through."

Because they don't try to join disimilar materials together. They have learned what the outcome will be, just as you will.

Sorry man, I'm not trying to give you s**t or make fun of your workmanship, I don't think anyone else is either. We are trying to help you by telling you how to do it a way that will and look great/professional for the life of the car. Now as other people have said you can still fix it and do it the right way but once you paint it you're done. If you want to be stubborn and do it your way then go ahead, I don't care, it's not my car. If you want to do it the right way then look below, this guy has a great idea.
